Saint Paul, MN - Today’s Executive Orders remind Minnesotans the importance of every Minnesotan’s actions. The Executive Council will meet this afternoon and Auditor Blaha plans to vote yes on Executive Order 20-48 easing Stay at Home restrictions to allow retailers to provide curbside and delivery services and Executive Order 20-49 allowing commercial food trucks to operate at highway rest areas in Minnesota during the COVID-19 peacetime emergency. Auditor Blaha explained her support for Executive Order 20-48, “Social distancing is more important than ever. Data shows that Minnesotans have taken social distance seriously and we have made progress on readiness for a surge in COVID-19 cases. Now we need to prove that we can maintain social distance while easing restrictions. As we expand movement in retail, we need to balance that by our individual actions to keep our distance.” Regarding Executive Order 20-49, as a fan of both food trucks and transport workers, Auditor Blaha said, “If anyone deserves access to food trucks in Minnesota, it’s our truck drivers and those who keep them rolling. The peacetime emergency shines a light on workers who keep Minnesota moving and how essential they are.”
